General guidelines:

  • Avoid constant user death
  • Make the player jump and evade as much as possible
  • Create interesting "arenas" and populate levels with them (2-5 per level)
  • Guide the player through the level using auras
  • Prefer water over holes
  • Populate levels with spikes to restrict players movement and add challenge to the game
  • Create areas that require the use of the wall sliding ability
  • Use Slippery areas to prevent the player from wall sliding and to delimit the level (boundaries)
