Pattern Report for a Source Database or Source Vendor

The patterns report presents information on the percentage of occurance for a given pattern (format) for each of the core elements being considered by the OpenURL quality reporting tool. The patterns have been derived based on an analysis of the log files contained within the system. A list of the core elements can be found here.

At the top of the report, you will find a summary of the information contained within including: log source name, source (is this meant to say orign as the elements report), the number of OpenURL strings analyzed for the selected vendor or database, and the total number of OpenURLs within the logfile.

Data presented on this report includes the following:

- Core element name

- Core element pattern analyzed (labelled as metric -- should this be revisited?): Written representation of what was searched for using the regular expression (regex) associated with a given row in the report.(Note: I think that the glossary should provide additional informatin on these terms as not all are self-explanatory)

- Regex: the string pattern used to identify the metric presented in the report.

- Percentage from the selected source vendor or source database: This metric represents the percentage of time that a given element is present in the OpenURL string in the specified pattern.

- Percentage from the all origins: This metric represents the percentage of time that a given element is present in the OpenURL string for all orgins (is this dependent on source selection?)
