Fatal error on plug-in activation
Reported by Andrew Grill, Matt Singley
A Fatal error is generated when activating the plugin declaring that the function wordpress_mobile_pack_admin_notices cannot be redeclared. The issue seems to be linked to the old path wordpress_mobile_pack, but is unclear how to avoid it and also how to block the install process

So I have finally been able to reproduce this - by removing the themes directory altogether.
(I can't reproduce it when the directory is there).
So... I am implementing a 'readiness-audit' that runs around and checks everything is as we expect before the install runs. It will at least display a helpful red error (rather than this cryptic failure).

Wait... I just reproduced it. With permissions of 766 on the themes directory, it passes the 'writable' test, but can't enumerate it, or set permissions on the inner folders.
Finally, bingo.
Finally, bingo.
Solved - at least, by failing elegantly in the case where x is not permitted on the directory.
