Even though the preference in Run/Debug -> Launching -> Continue Launch if project contains errors = Always, the dialog still appears to ask whether to continue or not.

Can you please describe a bit better what you mean? I think you mean that errors in test should be ignored, but I think it's more complicated than that. Build errors in test are a problem when launching a test, but not when launching main. The logic should be involved.
Anyway, the code is all in the Scala launcher, a method called `isLaunchProblem` or something like that. Users can already disable this check altogether from Eclipse Preferences, somewhere on the Debug page.

I mean this check in the launch preferences that disables the launch check altogether. It doesn't work on Scala projects. We seem to have our own implementation of this dialog.
