After I switched from Scala IDE 4-RC1 to final it is now horribly slow. Saving Scala files takes several seconds, code completion takes several seconds and so on. I suspect this has to do with the new resource management? Can I disable this somehow, since memory is no issue for me and I can not work with these delays.
Thanks, Martin.

You can disable the new resource management in Preferences>Scala>Resources but I doubt that it has anything to do with it. Would you mind installing svelto and then have a look where the delays come from?

It looks like a lot of time is spent in resolving implicits, this might be due to the compiler having troubles with some part of your code. No changes between RC1 and final touched the way the presentation compiler is used.
A couple of things to try:
- the amount of heap available to Eclipse. Try increasing that to 2G, see if it helps
- turn off "mark occurrences" and "Java breadcrumbs", if enabled
- try to identify if there's a particular file that causes things to slow down
