no Erlang functionality if project doesn't have Erlang nature

I am using Eclipse 3.4.2.
After installing Erlide, clicking a .erl file will display error like "Cannot initialize editor".
The solution is right-clicking the project and select "Toggle Erlang nature". I think Erlide should do this automatically or this instruction should be hilighted on the home page of Erlide.
