Contributor Agreement
Thank you very much for considering becoming a contributor to the EncounterPRO Open Source Project! If you're not familiar with the GNU General Public Licence (GPL) or in particular the GNU Affero GPL, I recommend that you read it before entering into a contributor agreement. Also, please read the Additional Permissions granted by The EncounterPRO Foundation, Inc. to users and distributors of EncounterPRO-OS.
The strength of the GPL is what is called its Copy-Left provisions. These terms give you as a user or developer complete freedom to use EncounterPRO-OS in any way you wish, including making changes to its source code or incorporating EncounterPRO-OS into other projects. They also restrict you from giving those improvements or combinations to others without granting them the same freedoms and restrictions. The simple idea is: Once the code is open, it can't be closed again.
At the heart of a copy left is a strong copyright. In other words, you need to own the copyright in order to enforce any provisions of its licensed usage. Because of this, we need to be certain that any code you donate to The EncounterPRO-OS Open Source Project is yours to donate, and is not encumbered by someone else's copyright claims. That's where the contributor agreement comes in.
Please read the Contributor Agreement, sign it and either email a scan of the signed document to info@encounterpro.org, or mail it to

Oh one more thing... if you work for a company that might be interested in the software you write and you are not in a position to assign the copyright of your work product, you should get your boss' permission in writing to enter into this contributors agreement.
