SALT is configured in environment.rb but that file is managed by source control. Shouldn't we make some sort of .tmpl file or something?

Fixed in [226] and [227]. I've created environment.rb.tmpl and deleted environment.rb from the repos. Don't forget to copy your SALT before you update!
