SMART 5.3 Active Patrol Hours Subtracted from Rest Time
Submitted by: Julio Maaz
Issue was escalated to SMART Support, but they were unable to resolve issue.
I've included the initial exchange for context.
1) From Julio: The patrol rest time is being subtracted from the active patrol time. Therefore, when you run the query for Patrol Summary and ask for active patrol time it gives you a negative result when the rest time is greater than the active patrol time. I don't think that the rest time should be subtracted from the active patrol time. Has anyone else seen this?
2) From Rich: This was by design. Many sites wanted to exclude rest time from patrol time. There are two values you can calculate, “Total patrol time” (does not exclude rest time” and “Active patrol time” (excludes rest time), so you can get either value. I am not sure I understand how you could get the negative value you describe. There should be no way for the rest time to be longer than the total patrol time. Are you saying that rest time is subtracted from active patrol time rather than total patrol time?
3) From Julio: I took a closer look and I realize that it has to do with my patrol times. So on this screen (see Screenshot JMaaz1) its telling me that my patrol started at 8:06 AM and Finished at 12:08 AM. This screen (see screenshot Jmaaz2) shows the same. However on this screen when I look at my track points my tracks started at 2:06 PM (see Screenshot Jmaaz3). I am looking of data that was collected using mobile devices. I will check the data set on the field computer to see if they have the same issue. This is data that I am looking at is data downloaded via the CONNECT. I am wondering of Connect is changing.

FYI - No processing is done on Connect. It strictly acts as a file store, so this is not a Connect time issue.
If you cannot figure the cause, can you provide us with the raw CyberTracker data files that were used to create this patrol (JSON data files)? We can look at the raw data and try to determine where the issue is.
