GPS Import Waypoints - DateTime
Posted by egouge on 2012-02-15 01:09
GPSmap 60CSXx (and other 'older' garmin devices) track the date/time of the waypoint in the "Note" field. This can be modified by the user. If modified then there is no way of knowing what date/time the waypoint occurred at. For these devices, can I make some assumptions that the date/time will be in the notes fields in a specific format? Are there some other best practices that are followed?
It looks like this is not an issue with the newer GPSmap 62 as it tracks waypoint date/times independently of the notes.

The GPSMAP 62 will probably become one of the most widely used of our GPS units at least as it will replace the now discontinued 60Csx. However, the 60Csx is still widely used - so important we get this right.
