Syntax highlighting does not work for diffs in Mercurial Eclipse

I use Mercurial at work. When I right-click on a file in Package Explorer and choose Compare With -> Another Revision, the resulting diff is not syntax highlighted as a .scala file - it looks like Eclipse is treating it as a Java file, because only keywords that are also keywords in Java are syntax highlighted.
