The Scala builder suppresses error messages coming from the Scala compiler if they relate to Java sources. This is because it assumes the Java compiler would (later) add its own error messages.
However, if the Scala sources have no errors, the compilation fails and the Problem views stays empty. The only indication something went wrong is in the log:
