Improved base classes for visual components

The OpenLaszlo team added a lot features for better CSS2/3 support and HTML5 canvas based components in the past years. It seems that much of the functionality is not well tested. I had the chance to go through some of the code for handling the boxmodel, CSS2/3 properties for border radius and drop shadow values in the past months. With a bit of tuning and testing we could create new base classes for visual components supporting
+ drop shadow
+ correct clipping of view content for views with shadows and rounded corners
+ gradient support for SWF and DHTML in all major browsers (applying multiple gradients to a view, gradients with simple color stops and color stops using percentages)
+ correct handling of opacity for borders
If there's enough interested I'd be willing to share the results of my work with the community. Has anyone been building similar components in the past two years?
