- Single log in screen - for multiple users of 1 machine, choose own picture
then choose one 'password' image to gain access.
- Ability to run third party applications from a click of a Maavis 'button'.
Before developing any new projects to deploy new services using this feature it
will be essential to try running the third party sofwtare from Maavis as early
as possible.
- Switch/Scanning access - in general less useful to James since aimed at people
with severe phyiscal disability. However there is the possibility that for
someone who cannot be given 'arms reach' access to a touchscreen or make use of
a pointing device that it will be useful (e.g. some who is stuck in bed).
-Optional on screen 'quit' cell. Quit Maavis is acheived through using Alt+q,
i.e. from keyboard. Can simpolify the screens and prevent users from quitting
Maavis into Windows where they may have no idea what they have done, what to do
at that point, etc.
-Content and arrangements of Maavis launch and subsequent screens now
configurable. Can choose to have log in feature or not. Maavis can be set up as
if it is intended for a single person on a single machine, or with several
people with on one machine, some capapbility to be set up for use on across a
network where each pc can access locally stored content and from a
server/shared location.
-Control of the content in the services home page. You can remove 'Call' as a
service (through Maavis Settings can also remove the need for Skype). Indeed
can choose what other services are or are not present.
-Maavis setting up for web links is now similar as for the other 'services',
i.e. not reliant on a facilitator editing one of Maavis app files.
-Improved handling of music files. 'pages' of tracks accessible through a 'more'
button.
-Many more control options in Maavis set up utility.
It will be useful for James and I as we may have the opportunity to get some
funding to deploy Maavis into SheffCare Homes - this may allow limited scope
for adding content to that available, SheffCare gaining greater skills in
developing services, and ?
