Firefox 3.6 addon restrictions break install
The Maavis installer installs the Maavis Firefox extension into the components directory after installing Firefox. FFx 3.6 bans this requiring user install of and XPI. This gives a more complex install for users so we need to find a work arround. The sledge hammer is go to XUL Runner but I hope there will be an easier way.
There are some notes here but they are for specific users (posisbly OK) only and may be for all profiles which is no use..

The best solution seemsto be to update the registry to install Maavis. However there is no option to do this for a simngle profile just a specific windows user. So if the user has firefox installed he will always get Maavis. Solution is to go over to using FFx Portable which allows Maavis to be installed/removed when run. There is a slight chance it gets left installed iff FfxPortal crashes.
