Upload waypoints error - Garmin Montana 650
When attempting to upload waypoints from DNR GPS (6.0.0.15) to the Garmin Montana 650, the upload only includes one of the waypoints that is present in the DNR GPS window. The device shows the waypoint with the correct IDENT value, and there are no other files on the unit that it would be overwriting. This occurs both when I select "GPS - Upload all" and "Waypoint - Upload." DNR GPS does not realize that there is a problem - it gives me an upload success message despite having uploaded one of the nine waypoints.
After spending a significant portion of time considering the problem, I determined that the one waypoint that was uploading (versus the 8 others that were not) did not have the same data present as the others in one of the attribute fields when open in ArcGIS. After deleting this attribute field (I think it was the field that denotes the device that the data was collected on which was different than the Garmin Montana 650), the waypoints all uploaded correctly.
If you have any questions or a quicker way for me to resolve this (it happens with most of our waypoint files), please contact me at landprotection@geneseelandtrust.org.
