Projection error NAD 83 CA Teale Albers
When downloading waypoints (using both Garmin 60csx and 62sc) using NAD 83 California Teale Albers, you are only given one projection to choose from in DNRGarmin, which is named as expected NAD 83 California Teale Albers, and the shapefiles work as expected. Under DNRGPS, there are 2 projections, one is named the same (NAD 83 Calif. Teale Albers), the other is named NAD 83 California Albers. To my surprise, NAD 83 California Albers in DNRGPS is identical to NAD 83 California Teale Albers in DNRGarmin when comparing bthe prj description. Please rename the California Albers in DNRGPS and delete the erroneous one.

NAD 83 California Teale Albers shows up in DNRGPS and DNRGarmin. It is an enhancement request from Linda Miller lmiller@dfg.ca.gov - California Dept of Fish and Game 5/24/05. It is consistent between the last version of DNRGarmin and DNRGPS. The other projection, California Albers, is what comes with Proj4 and so it wasn't changed.
The Nad 83 California Teale Albers projection desriptions in DNRGarmin and DNRGPS are not the same, copy them to a text document and compare for yourself. I also encourage you to open an empty Arcmap document and load the same waypoint downloaded by both programs using the NAD83 CA Teale Albers projection. The location difference is minimal but enough to cause unnecessary confusion.
Thanks.
Thanks.
