Confusion on patching versus redownload v131
Posted by Anonymous on 2014-09-14 16:47
I am assuming that since the new files are labeled:
BGR v1.31 - Part 1 of 6-794-1-31.rar
and the files I downloaded are
Do Not Download - Part 1-794-1-0
That I have version 1.0 of the BG Reloaded. Do I need to redownload the newer 1.31 or will patching it be okay? I know some patches sometimes don't really bring a game up to the current version as well as downloading a fresh copy of the new version. So if you were in my shoes, would you patch the 1.0 to 1.31 patch 4 or download the full 1.31 instead? While I have plenty of bandwidth (Comcast), I just want to decide whether it is best to download it again, due to its size and the nexusmods slow download speed (no not complaining, just glad we have places that will host files like BGR.).
I notice people have asked at nexusmods as well as the discussion on the BGEE/BG2EE website about patch vs re-download as of this past month but no response, so I figured since this site showed activity, I would try here.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
