Invalid / Valid Tests in Visualization Tool

What is the point of this functionality? Are the tests meant to show something?

The test cases with the small file icon with a red X signifies an Invalid test case (also contained in the Invalid folder node) and the file icons with a green check signifies a valid test case (in Valid folder node). Inside the test cases, if a step has a green check icon, it is a valid step in the test case, meaning that it's possible for a user to follow that procedure with the Android application. If the step has a red x icon, then this step is invalid, meaning a user could not follow that step of the procedure with the actual Android application (which is what makes it's test case invalid). Am I missing something?
