Semantic highlighting allows to color identifiers based on their meaning. Classes can be colored differently from field, for example. It would be great to have options for

• classes
• traits
• fields
• lazy vals
• methods

Since semantic information needs typechecking, and typechecking is slow, this can only be done on 'reconciliation'. Ideally, the semantic highlighter would augment the existing syntax highlighter and paint the additional colors when the information becomes available.
