List[A] and Map[String, V] can be serialized in JSON
These should work for example:
scala> parse(""" [1,2,3] """).extract[List[Int]]
res0: List[Int] = List(1, 2, 3)scala> parse(""" {"firstname":"joe", "lastname":"doe"} """).extract[Map[String, String]]
res0: Map[String,String] = Map((firstname,joe), (lastname,doe))
