Welcome to the new York HCI Group Space.  It is designed to be a collaborative space for all members of the group to share information between each other.  You will find links to various pages down the left hand side of the page and various tools such as file storage and image portfolios along the top.

From this opening page you can visit areas of interest to members of the group:

  • News: Has something good happened in the group you want to brag about?  Submit it to the news area!  People can subscribe to RSS feeds for each of the pages on the collaborative space.
  • Research Projects: A list of research projects currently underway in our group.  Please add your own research projects to let people know what you are up to and to see if something might interest you!
  • Publication Deadlines:Have you heard of a conference or special journal issue that interests you?  Would it be interesting to other people in the York HCI group?  Add it to the publication deadlines table and let people know if you are preparing something.  We have lots of people working in lots of interesting fields so add any publications that might be interesting to you, and you might find others who are interested in it as well!
  • Research Grants in Progress: Grants can always benefit from the input from a wide range of people, and there might be someone in the group who has skills that you need!  Post ongoing grant applications that you are helping prepare and let people know what you are looking to work on.

Then there are some things you need to know:

  • You are welcome to create pages in any of the existing categories; however, if you wish to create a new category of information, please add it to the list here. New pages can be created quickly in the panel on the left hand side.
  • Pages can be edited in a WSYWYG format, or you can edit the raw source by selecting the button labelled "HTML" in the panel above.
  • It is expected that those invited have specific interests, and preferably an active part, in the York HCI community. If you wish to have someone invited to the group please do so.  All members can invite people to join, and joining is open.  However, this means that anyone who knows about the site can join it, so you may not want to put lots of detailed work in progress on here. You can however create your own workspaces within assembla and restrict access to specific people.
