Using PSI with Assembla XMPP

This document describes how to connect to the Assembla Jabber Server with PSI: http://psi-im.org.

1. Run PSI. If this is the first time you've opened the PSI, you may jump to the point number 4 from here.

2. Select Account Setup from the menu. You can open menu by clicking on the button in the bottom left-corner of the PSI window.

3. Click Add.

4. Enter the account name in the Add Account window. You can leave it, this is not so important if you have only one account.

5. Click Add.

 

 

6. In the Jabber ID field, enter your Assembla login name plus @chat.assembla.com. For example: JhonDoe@chat.assembla.com

7. Enter your Assembla password in the Password field.

8. Click on the Connection tab.

 

 

9. Check "Use SSL encyption (to server)" and "Allow Plaintext Login" check boxes.

10. Click Save.

 

Now you should be able to change your status to Online, this is the menu in right-bottom corner of the window. You should see all your Assembla spaces as groups with team members.

 

If this does not work, please check the Jabber ID and Password to match your Assembla account and if the "Allow Plaintext Login" option is set.
