Copy a space
Assembla now allows you to copy existing workspaces and create full, new copies from which to work. Here are some great ways to use the copy workspace feature:
- Copy our preconfigured spaces with all code, language and tools prepared for your team's convenience
- Create a template workspace for new consulting projects. When onboarding a new client, copy the template workspace, customize, then invite the client
When creating a copy of a workspace, the following information is transferred:
Do not copy from space attributes
- name, url name, description tags, banner, or permissions (you can't get a free commercial or manager space by copying).
Do copy from spapce attributes
- email to flows, wiki settings, style, tab list

At the footer of every workspace to which you have access is a link to 'Copy this space'. Click the link to copy the space.

Assembla will present the "Get your preconfigured space" page. Name the space, choose a URL and add a description.

Define the access and roles for the team members, then click Copy. Assembla will create a complete copy of the workspace and allow you to further customize and configure it.
