Welcome to the ArcDeveloper Open Source Projects Home page!
The ArcDeveloper.net projects strive to be a common set of resources for all ESRI ArcGIS Developers.
!ArcDeveloper REST API Project
This was started in response to an outpouring of frustration at the complexity, and performance of the ArcGIS Server Application Development Framework (ADF). The project does not aim to replace the ADF, rather we are interested in creating a set of RESTful APIs which enable geospatial web developers to interact with ArcGIS Server or a range of other back-end geospatial services. Our aim is to produce a well designed, easily extended framework that the GIS community can easily leverage.
We realize that ESRI will be releasing a full-featured REST API at version 9.3, and this project does not intend to replace or compete with such an indepth API. Rather we are aiming for simplicity and ease of use. And since it's open if you find a bug you don't have to wait for a service pack to move forward.
Code License: All the ArcDeveloper.net code is under an MIT license - which basically means you can do whatever you want with it - commercial or otherwise.
If you want to contribute, please let me (Dave Bouwman) know using the Contact page on my blog.
We are looking for people who can:
