Goals of the project
I'll try to describe a perfect software I would like to use so you can have an idea of the project goals.
Imagine a vector drawing software where you can add a text box anywhere on a virtual area.
Imagine that every text box content is now dynamic, like a spreadsheet cell.
The text box can be formatted, it's possible to even concatenate all those text box a complete page (like a page publisher software), but content is dynamic.
Add some drawing method, add some scripting (Javascript) so text box content and size and format can be dynamic too depending on data.
Then the next killer feature is zooming. Add a blank box to the document, and you can zoom in that box, and treat it as another unlimited area document.
So you can group your work in virtual area, with everything being dynamically updated.
Then add the possibility to let the data source be remote (like automatically downloaded from websites, or any other known data source (RSS, sockets)).
If you can imagine all of these, then I probably need your help setting this up.
I have multiple components currently ready (automatic data type conversion à la spreadsheet for one). Some are being developed (like the HTML renderer), some are being thought (the space indexing for one) and will be implemented soon. It's an exciting chance to merge many known software features in a, as far as I can see, the ultimate software for data processing.
