Praviya Yaviya Naviya

Praviya Yaviya Naviya is a free (free as in beer and free as in freedom) and open source fantasy adventure board game, placed in a Slavic mythology-inspired universe.

Gameplay

Preparation

PYN is a paper-based game, meaning that all elements must be printed (or otherwise reproduced) on paper to enable actual play. The elements are as follows:

A set of typical d6 dice (that is, six-sided dice) is also required.

This game is best suited for at least two players. 

Procedure

Each player is assigned a character (primarily precreated, but can be self-made), which they use to move around the world board. The board consists of a number of areas - spaces through which the player characters move in accordance to a single die roll. Each one contains an instruction, which must be followed by any character finishing its movement on that area. This can be either an area-specific action or at least one event card (depending on area). Through exploring the board the characters gain or lose items and wealth, shape their attributes, acquire companions and fight enemies.

PYN has no set goal,  enabling the players to agree on their own winner scenario. However, several high-level quest, needing prior exploration and attribute improvement to complete, are available.

Progress

Game content is currently in stage of research and development, and the following activities are in progress:

• Basic math system is being established.
  
• Ideas are being gathered for events, object, encounters etc.
• The rulebook is being pieced together.
