Assembla - Tracker and Screen Capture

Assembla tracker is a desktop application written in Java that can quickly capture screen shots. This makes it easy to capture a screenshot and post it as a bug report. It also provides an automated time tracking feature that will log your time every 15 minutes, ask you for a task description, and attach a screenshot.

After you run the windows installer, you will see the Assembla Tracker in your task bar.

If you are using Mac or Linux, you can unpack the java files and run the !AssemblaTracker-XXX.jar file as a normal application.

You must install java on your computer to run this application.


Post a Screen as a Ticket

To capture a screen shot and post it as a Ticket or File

Select the “Screenshot”“Screenshot” button. Then drag your mouse over the area you want to grab. Then click on the resulting shaded area. You can submit it as an Assembla ticket, or a file.

To use the time tracker

Select "Start"Start a task".task". You will need to enter the space you are working in, the job to bill to, and a task description. The system will track your time. Every 15 minutes it will post your description with a screenshot as an attachment on the time entries.
