Identifying some broad kinds of train system energy requirements (not approaches to energy harvest).

E.G.  - This kind of train system of this size on this terrain needs about this many Wh for each voyage of X kilometers carrying payload (passengers + cargo) of Y KG.

  • We might do a sparse-matrix subset of the cross-product of key categorical capacity/performance parameters:
    • passenger capacity per train:   100, 400, 800
      • Budget weight/size for this number of passengers with decent but not lavish comfort and amenities, with and without heavy cargo e.g. their vehicles.
    • train average speed in KpH:  200, 350, 500, 650, 800
    • terrain type:   flat-rural, flat-urban, hilly-rural, mountains
  • post-multiplied by the somewhat simpler segment-size/frequency factors
    • distance of travel segment in KM:   50, 100, 200, 400, 800
    • average trains traveling that segment each day:     8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256
