Ticketing Tool
The Ticket tool gives you a place to list tasks, feature requests, and bugs. Our tour page shows screenshots of the key features in the Assembla ticking tool.
Do you need to request an enhancement, report a bug or add a comment to your project? Write a Ticket for it and you will never lose the information. Then you can sort your tickets by priority, or milestone/iteration/release, and start work.
Tickets allow you to follow up who has been working on it and when. It tracks status, and lists any change or comment in a narrative under the ticket description.
There are many different ticketing tools for software teams. To design the Assembla Tickets tool, we started with the philosophy and layout of Trac, which is designed to be "software that doesn't get in your way". We made it simpler and faster by doing things like making the current ticket list accessible in one click from the top bar. Then we started adding features that users request.
Features of the Assembla Ticketing tool include:
- Email or RSS alerts for ticket changes
- Pull-down team assignment
- Link to wiki pages and code changesets in ticket descriptions and comments
- Attach images and files
- Report builder for making your own views
- Batch update for moving tickets between users and milestones
The Ticket tool comes with two other tools - Milestones, and Trac/SVN. The Milestones tool gives you a place to put your planned milestones, releases, or iterations. Tickets are usually grouped by milestone, and this is important if you are running an agile process. The Trac/SVN tool gives you way to store and browse the code that you are working on.
What features are we working on?
Screen capture: Assembla's "Tracker" screen capture client now gives you a fast and easy way to take screenshots and post them with tickets.
Improved Layout: While your list of tickets keep growing, we are thinking on new ways of showing the information to you so you can find it quicker, easier and (why not?) even prettier.
Report builder: Any of our list of tickets is suitable for you? You will be able to create your own lists meeting your custom criteria.
Better SVN integration: Comment on tickets, and change the status of ticket
Import and Export from Trac: Move tickets in and out of the Assembla system through Trac.
