FOV_Loader 1.2.0

Changes and Improvements

The plugin now saves the hotkey configuration when you quit X-Plane in a file in X-Planes preferences folder.

To change hotkeys use the Plugin admin menu:

Look for the FOV-Loader entries in this screen. Use the Assign button to assign some other key, use the check boxes on the right to define the modifiers. Hint: Down or Up work for single key strokes, Hold enables continuous change while holding the specified keys down. But hold is a bit tricky to use for single step adjustments.

Once you have assigned the keys hit the Apply button and close. Please note that the new assignment only gets saved once you exit X-Plane.

FOV-Loader 1.1.0

Changes and Improvements

Added two keyboard shortcuts to widen or narrow FOV easily without opening the settings. Default keys are:

  • <CTRL>+<SHIFT>+<NUMPAD_PLUS>: widen the FOV
  • <CTRL>+<SHIFT>+<NUMPAD_MINUS>: narrow the FOV

Note that this change is temparary. To make it stick for the current aircraft you have to open the FOV Settings and hit "Save" there.

FOV-Loader 1.0.0

New Build available for Windows, Linux and (for now only) Mac PPC. Get version 0.1.0 for your OS from the Files section

Changes and Improvements

  • the plugin can be disabled from the menu. If disabled it will not load or save files and will not modify the Field-of-view rendering setting.
  • the plugin now allows to store separate settings for 2D/3D Cockpit and external view.
  • improved usability:
    • the field for the current view gets highlighted (setting the focus does not work yet)
    • enter a number in a field and hit to apply immediately
    • hit to close the window

Due to the fact that more settings need to be stored the file format has changed and the plugin will store its settings now in a "fov.ini" in the aircraft folder. Existing fov.txt files should be deleted manually.

Installation as before: download the plugin for your OS and put it in the x-plane plugins folder.
