Inspiration

For design inspiration and guidance, and understanding what's already out there:

• Reactable -- a SUPER-COOL collaborative electronic music instrument with a tabletop tangible multi-touch interface.
• Dasboard -- Dashboard may be a good analogy for what we're trying to do, since it's essentially just a platform for widgets.
• Songsmith -- Aimed at amateur users. You can get a lot out of this program without knowing a single thing about music.
• Garage Band -- Entry level song production software.
• Max/MSP -- Super sophisticated fully programmable tool for doing pretty much anything related to audio generation. $600, but there's a free 30 day trial
