The translation portal

Confusa uses the Feide RnD translation portal for translating to different languages. The idea is that you, dear NREN/subscriber admin/Confusa user know your language much better than we do and can provide a far better translation.

Everybody can logon to the translation portal, portal and translate strings, using the OpenIdP identity provider. If you do not have an OpenIdP account, you can create one by only providing an e-mail address.

Getting the languages into Confusa

The translation portal creates text files with Stringsstrings in JSON format. With every release we import these language definitions into Confusa. So for language updates to appear in the portal, you will have to wait until a new (minor) release will have been installed in Tilburg. Usually the time-frame you can expect is less than a month.

Languages displayed in Confusa's language bar

We do not want to display every single language in the language bar, because the bar would become very messy. So for a language to be shown, it has to be configured as an available language by the portal instance admin. So if you feel that your language has significant translation effort but is not shown in the language bar, drop a line to tcs-portal-core [at] terena [dot] org.
