Installing Confusa
You can do this in 2 ways.
- From source, either from a gziped archive or from a git-checkout
- From the debian-archive hosted by UvT
- Alternatively, you can go for the quick test-solution, and check out the preconfigured server on a VM-Image
If you are new to Confusa and you run either debian or ubuntu, we reccomend using the apt-repository. If you want the absolute latest, bleeding edge version in all its glory, you should do a git checkout.
Since the software has changed a lot lately, with items being added and removed from the database-schema etc, the most updated install-documentation can be found in INSTALL
In short, what you will be doing:
- Get the source (see the ‘Trac/Git’-tab for download instructions)
- Download SimpleSAMLphp
- Configure Apache
- Configure SimpleSAMLphp
- If you need Metadata Management, see AMM
- Copy config/confusa_config_template.php to confusa_config.php and edit it to complete your needs
- Run init/create_database.sh to create the database and the tables.
- Create a database-user to use the newly created database. See confusa_config.php for the name of database and user. Set the password for the user here (as well as in the database…)
Once this is done, the portal is configured. However, before you can start using it, you need to add at least one NREN, and then configure in some Subscriber.
