Space Permissions and Access
Breakout is carefully designed to allow you to share some information, and keep some information private.
When you create a space, you set the Public access level as None, View, Edit, or All. This controls the permissions for people who are not team members. You also set the team access level.
If you set Public permissions to NONE, then your space will be invisible to people who are not team members. It will not appear in searches by non-team-members, and it will not appear in public lists, such as the New Spaces list on the home page.
If you set the Public permission to VIEW or EDIT, then your space can appear in search results for any user. It will also be eligible to appear on the home page in the New Spaces list and the Active Spaces list.
Access levels
VIEW access gives a user the ability to see the space.
EDIT access gives a user the ability to add and edit comments, and add and edit wiki pages.
ALL access gives a user the ability to add and remove team members, to use the Admin page and change the configuration of the space, to set relationships, and to delete the space.
Typical settings
A typical setting for a publicly visible space is Public: View, Team: Edit. This is the default for a new space. Set public to "Edit" if you want to get comments from non-team members.
A typical setting for a private space is Public: None, Team:Edit.
