Boulders is a game designed to mimic the simplicity of rock, paper, scissors while disincentivizing implementors from making a completely random bot.
Imagine there is a bank at the base of the mountain filled with $$$. Considering it's location and theyour lackever-mounting of any credible security system, debt, you decide to crush it with a near by boulder and steal the money. Unfortunately, your evil brother has the exact same idea. Your goal - use your boulder to squish your brother so you can steal the money or, crush the bank and steal the money before your brother's boulder squishes you.
Vocab:
- Game - one roll of the boulders resulting in a win, lose, or draw for each player.
- Match - a set of 5,000 to 25,000 games to determine the best algorithm.
- Match Winner - the player that wins the majority of games during a match (e.g. for a 5,000 game match, the player that wins 2501 games)
- To roll your boulder, pick a spot on the mountain to launch it from (1 to MaxInt). The bank is at position 0.
- You and your brother's boulders will start rolling at the same time and will always roll at the same speed.
- Your player will stand at your launching position until your boulder strikes the bank or your brother, after which it will automatically get out of the way of any oncoming boulders. If this rule doesn't make sense, don't worry, it's only applicable to #1 below and even then it doesn't really matter.
- If you destroy the bank before your brother's boulder squishes you, you win. Example: you play 1 and your opponent plays 3.

- If you squish your brother before or at the same time he destroys the bank, you win. Example: you play 3 and your opponent plays 2.

- If the bank is destroyed and a brother is squished at the same time, the winner is the living brother. Example: you play 2 and your opponent plays 1.

- If you and your brother's boulder hit the bank at the same time (i.e., you both launched your boulders from the same spot), you tie. Ties/draws are carried over to the next game (e.g., if you draw two games in a row, the winner of the next game will get three points).
- Dynamite, played by specifying a launch position of 0, immediately destroys the bank.
- The player who plays dynamite automatically wins that game unless, both players play dynamite at the same time. In that case, the result is a draw which carries over to the next game.
- Each player gets a small amount of dynamite, 1% of the total games in a match. (e.g. in a 5,000 game match, each player gets 50 sticks of dynamite).
- Any player attempting to play dynamite after he/she has run out, automatically loses that game.
