Welcome to the Assembla Tickets template!

When you selected this template, we automatically set up your workspace with everything that you will need to use Assembla to manage a ticketing process.  These could be tickets that help you to organize features or track & fix bugs for a software product (really for any product or project).  Or they could be "trouble tickets" that customers report to your customer service team.  Or they could be issues that are completely unrelated to technology, software or even work-related projects.  For example we have had people use Assembla to manage the thousands of little things that needed to get done or fixed when contractors were building their dream house.

Here are a few helpful tips about how to get started with Assembla tickets.

      • You may want to add other people to your team by click the TEAM tab at the top of this page.  That way you can assign tickets to them and monitor their progress as they fix or do things.  Assembla ticketing automatically uses email messages to keep you and your team informed so you can be sure that you will be able to keep track of things on a minute by basis.
      • If the project or process that you want to track is complex and has multiple discreet components, you may want to create milestones for each component.  For example, if you were building a house, you create milestone for the roof, the electrical system, the plumbing, etc.  To create milestones, click the MILETONES tab at the top of the page.
      • Now, you are ready to click the TICKETS tab at the top of this page and start creating and assigning tasks to the various members of your team (that is, once they accept your invitation and join the team).
      • Lastly, you may want to use the wiki tool (which you are reading right now) to store documentation for your project by clicking the "Add a New Page" link.  To change this page which is the first thing that your team members will see when they accept your invitation, just click "Edit this page" near the upper left corner of this page.

        * If you would like a little bit more explanation about any of these features, there are video tutorials at the bottom of each page (such as the "Watch our video tutorial for the Wiki Tool" link at the bottom of this page).

Keep in mind that the features noted above are the basic things that you will likely want for any project that you use tickets to help manage.  However, Assembla has over 20 other modules (tabs) that may be useful for your projects such as...

        • Repositories - If you are working on projects that involves code or other files, you can use repositories (SVN, GIT or Mercurial) to manage these files as different team work on them.
        • Twitter Integration - You can automatically send updates about your project to Twitter if that will grab the attention of your team more effectively.
        • Scrum Tool - If you find that agile methodologies make your teams more effective, consider using our scrum tool to have your team members self report on their activities and needs on a regular basis.

To manage the tools that are in your workspace , click the ADMIN tab at the top of this page and then the TOOLS link on the admin page.
