Windows

FWB Version: 09-02:1

This windows installer will setup File Workbench on Windows (2K/XP/Vista):

• fwb-win32-setup.exe

Linux

FWB Version: 09-02:2

This is a binary autopackage file for Linux:

• fwb-linux-setup.package

It can be installed under a variety of Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat, Gentoo, …etc.

(The package was created with AutoPackage)

To install:

• First download the file above.
• If you have used auto-packages previously, then:
  • Either just to double click it from the desktop.
  • Or, from a shell prompt, run
    @ $ package install fwb-linux-setup_08-08_2.package @
• If you have not used AutoPackage before, then:
  • you will have to change permissions on this file:
    @ $ chmod a+x fwb-linux-setup_08-08_2.package @
  • After that the package itself can be run:
    @ $ fwb-linux-setup_08-08_2.package @

A couple of notes:

• The package is installed with or without a root password (AutoPackage will ask for it):
  • With a root password, FWB is installed to: /opt/FileWorkbench and the app itself is in the bin-linux sub folder. A desktop item and a program launcher is usually installed in the System Tools menu (but this depends on the desktop manager).
  • Without a root password FWB is installed to your home directory:
    /home/YourUser/.local/FileWorkbench and there’s a bin-linux folder here also. If AutoPackage has not created a desktop launcher, you’ll have to do that yourself.
