I am primarily a Flex/AS3 programmer with nearly 13 years OOP/OOA/OOD experience starting off with web based technologies, then cross platform application development, cdrom titles, and building/conference control systems. My clients have included the Statue of Liberty, Toys R Us, the Federal Reserve, Lifetime Television, Polygram, Marvel Comics, Playboy, JP Morgan, Verizon, Abercrombie and Fitch, Reckitt Benckisor and Nickelodean.

I am very comfortable with database driven application using a trifold approach of database (in most cases MySQL/SQL but a few Oracle), a middleware layer (Ruby on Rails, PHP, Tomcat/JSP) and then the GUI layer (Flex/Flash/Director). I’m at home with many different forms of messaging: XML/XPath, JSON, AMF or any other form of serialization/deserialization of data. In most cases the applications I’ve built have shown state or data visualization to the end user and have been the real ‘brains’ of the application, communicating to the middle layer through WebServices or XML/JSON encoded queries to request, receive and update the database. My applications have always had Model-View-Controller (MVC) practices in mind when being built, creating a framework for future development to build upon.

On top of all of this, I’ve real-world experience (15+ years) of interaction designing with the end user in mind, as well as GUI design/development so that not only will my applications work, but attempt to be fluent interfaces, comprehensible and engaging to the user.
